Air Astra’s Future Plans: New Hubs, Aircraft & Global Reach
Bangladesh’s Air Astra is preparing to launch international flights and is seeking proposals for Airbus A320 or A321 aircraft, aiming to expand its operations beyond domestic skies by 2025.

Air Astra, one of Bangladesh’s newest private airlines, is preparing to spread its wings beyond domestic skies with plans to launch international passenger flights. In a recent public notice, the airline announced it is seeking proposals for the acquisition of three to four Airbus A320 or A321 aircraft.
The call for proposals includes options for dry lease, operating lease, or direct purchase. However, Air Astra made it clear that only aircraft-owning leasing companies or airlines can participate—brokers and intermediaries, even with mandates, will not be considered.
Shakib Hasan Shuvo, Deputy Manager of Air Astra, shared that initial international destinations may include Nepal and Phuket, with operations set to begin in 2025 if aircraft acquisition is completed on time.
Interested entities can download the Request for Proposal (RFP) from the official link provided and are required to submit their proposals within the specified deadline.
Having launched in 2022, Air Astra has quickly gained traction in the domestic aviation scene, with flights to Dhaka, Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Saidpur, and Jashore. The move into international markets marks a significant step in the airline’s ambitious growth strategy.
