Initial reports indicate that the collision occurred when the A320neo was awaiting clearance to enter the runway, resulting in inadvertent contact with the wingtip of the stationary Air India Express aircraft. Fortunately, the damage seems to be minor, affecting only the winglet extensions on both airplanes.

Following the incident, India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.

The disruption caused by the collision led to the delay of IndiGo flight 6E6152, scheduled for departure to Darbhanga. However, IndiGo promptly addressed the situation by providing refreshments to passengers and arranging an alternate aircraft to ensure minimal inconvenience and facilitate the timely departure of the delayed flight.

The incident underscores the importance of safety measures and regulatory oversight in aviation operations, emphasizing the need for thorough investigations to prevent such occurrences in the future.
