On a momentous occasion, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) celebrated the official opening of its new MAB Academy campus and laid the foundation for its cutting-edge Flight Simulator Building in the South Support Zone, Sepang. The event, graced by Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and other dignitaries, underscores MAG’s unwavering commitment to advancing aviation excellence and shaping the industry’s future through world-class training initiatives.

The ceremony, highlighted by the groundbreaking of the Flight Simulator Building, was a testament to MAG’s dedication to nurturing skilled talents essential for sustainable growth in the aviation sector. Speaking at the event, MAG’s Group Chairman, Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, emphasized the company’s strategic investments in state-of-the-art facilities and comprehensive training programs aimed at building a robust talent pipeline. He outlined MAG’s ambition to elevate its position among the top ten global airlines by 2030, driven by a relentless focus on enhancing customer experience and ensuring unparalleled excellence across its product and service offerings.

The newly inaugurated MAB Academy campus, spanning 194,000 square feet, represents a holistic approach to aviation education. Equipped with collaborative spaces and advanced training facilities, the campus features innovative elements such as a Heritage walkway showcasing MAG’s historical journey and detailed cabin replicas for immersive in-flight service training. Notably, the forthcoming Flight Simulator Building, slated for completion by mid-2025, will enhance the academy’s training capabilities with six simulator bays housing state-of-the-art aircraft simulators.

These advancements underscore MAB Academy’s commitment to offering top-tier training resources, including simulators for leading aircraft models such as the A330neo, Boeing 737-800 NG, and ATR 72-500. Additionally, the facility will include essential amenities like a safety and emergency training pool, ensuring comprehensive training in various aviation scenarios.

As an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), MAB Academy offers nearly 200 training courses catering to a diverse clientele, from local corporations to international airlines and students from prestigious global universities. With a focus on digital innovation and hospitality excellence, MAB Academy is poised to emerge as a premier center for aviation training in the region, driving Malaysia’s growth as a hub for aviation and hospitality excellence on the global stage.
