Emirates has announced the appointment of Jabr Al-Azeeby as the new Divisional Vice President for the UK. He succeeds Richard Jewsbury, who has transitioned to a Dubai-based role as Executive Vice President of Corporate and Customer Experience Planning.

Al-Azeeby steps into this key leadership position as Emirates prepares to expand its UK operations, with daily flights to Edinburgh set to resume on November 4. The airline already operates 133 weekly flights to the UK, utilizing a mix of Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s.

With over 15 years of experience at Emirates, Al-Azeeby has previously held significant roles, including Vice President for India, Pakistan, and most recently, Vice President of Commercial Operations in Saudi Arabia. He will report to Thierry Aucoc, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for Europe.

Al-Azeeby expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, highlighting the importance of the UK market to Emirates and his eagerness to leverage his experience in the Middle East to drive continued success in the region.

Al-Azeeby’s appointment comes at a crucial time as Emirates continues to navigate the complexities of the post-pandemic aviation landscape. The UK remains one of the airline’s most significant markets outside of the Middle East, with a robust network of flights connecting major UK cities to destinations across the globe. The resumption of daily operations to Edinburgh not only marks Emirates’ commitment to expanding its presence in the UK but also reflects the growing demand for international travel as more countries ease restrictions.

Under Al-Azeeby’s leadership, Emirates is expected to further strengthen its market position in the UK by enhancing customer experience, optimizing operational efficiency, and introducing strategic initiatives tailored to the unique demands of the region. His extensive experience in managing diverse markets, particularly in India, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, will be invaluable as Emirates looks to adapt to shifting market dynamics and capitalize on emerging opportunities in the UK and beyond.
