Spain’s tourism receipts surged by 36%, while the UK saw a 43% jump in spending. France continued its legacy as a global favorite with a 27% rise, and Portugal’s revenue skyrocketed by 51%, reflecting its growing appeal. Emerging destinations are also making a mark: Albania led with a 77% increase in arrivals, Serbia doubled its earnings with a 99% boost, and smaller nations like Andorra and Romania reported substantial growth of 36% and 61%, respectively.
International tourist arrivals globally have recovered to 98% of pre-pandemic levels, signaling a strong comeback for the sector. Europe alone saw a 1% increase in arrivals compared to 2019, thanks to enhanced connectivity and strategic marketing campaigns.
