While investigations continue, local reports indicate that the charging device ignited, leading to a blaze that caused injuries to seven people, up from the initial report of three. One passenger remains hospitalized as a result. The aircraft, an Airbus A321, was fully evacuated, with 169 passengers and seven crew members utilizing inflatable slides.
Authorities urge all travelers to ensure that their electronic devices, especially power banks, are in proper working order and purchased from reliable manufacturers.
