In a move set to redefine in-flight connectivity, Airbus has entered into a provisional agreement with Amazon to utilize its upcoming Project Kuiper satellite network. This collaboration aims to enhance Airbus’ High Bandwidth Connectivity Plus program by leveraging Amazon’s low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation, delivering faster and more reliable internet services to airlines.
Announced during a major cabin interiors exhibition in Hamburg, the partnership signals a growing focus on passenger connectivity as a competitive edge in commercial aviation. Once operational, the service could significantly improve the inflight internet experience, especially on long-haul and international routes.
The Kuiper constellation, Amazon’s answer to global satellite internet services, is designed to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband across the globe. Airbus’ integration of this network into its connectivity solutions could place it ahead in the race to deliver next-gen digital experiences in the sky.
