Indian Airlines Unveil Expanded Summer Flight Schedule with Surge in Domestic and International Operations
Indian airlines are gearing up for an ambitious summer flight schedule, set to commence from March 31, with a remarkable increase in both domestic and international operations. According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), a total of 24,275 weekly domestic flights will be operated, marking a nearly 6% rise compared to the previous year.
Key players such as IndiGo, Air India, and Vistara are poised to amplify their flight frequencies, while SpiceJet plans a reduction in departures during this period. Notably, the summer schedule will witness Indian carriers connecting 37 countries, including prominent destinations like the US, the UK, and the Maldives.
In the international segment, Air India, IndiGo, and Vistara are set to significantly ramp up their operations, reflecting a strategic expansion amidst evolving market dynamics. Meanwhile, SpiceJet will curtail its international flights, aligning with its strategic objectives.
The aviation landscape in India continues to evolve rapidly, with new entrants like Akasa Air making strides towards launching international operations. As the industry grapples with challenges such as supply chain disruptions and engine issues, airlines remain steadfast in their commitment to meet growing passenger demands.
The upcoming summer schedule underscores the resilience and adaptability of India’s aviation sector, poised to navigate the complexities of an ever-changing landscape while fostering growth and innovation.
