Smooth Operations Ensured at Jeddah Airport for Ramadan

Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) has been buzzing with activity as Saudi Arabia’s Transport Minister Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser personally oversaw operations to ensure a seamless experience for travelers during the Ramadan season.

Al-Jasser, who also holds the position of Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, emphasized the paramount importance of providing exceptional services to enhance the comfort and convenience of guests.

With over 27 government and security entities collaborating in airport operations, Al-Jasser expressed satisfaction with the coordinated efforts to manage the influx of passengers effectively, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

During his inspection, Al-Jasser, accompanied by key officials including GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, CEO Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Mughlooth of MATARAT Holding, and others, toured various terminals and facilities at KAIA.

From the period spanning the beginning of Sha’ban until Ramadan 10, KAIA witnessed a significant influx, recording over 5.4 million passengers across 30,572 flights. The busiest day at the airport was on Sha’ban 21 last year, involving a staggering 157,800 passengers.

The minister’s inspection covered Terminal 1, the Northern Terminal, and the Hajj Terminal Complex, where he assessed critical areas such as baggage handling, waiting lounges, and sorting facilities.

At the Northern Terminal, Al-Jasser reviewed the spacious sorting area and a waiting lounge capable of accommodating 522 passengers. Meanwhile, Terminal 1 boasts a vast sorting area, waiting lounge for 1,800 passengers per hour, and ample parking for 83 buses.

Additionally, Al-Jasser inspected the Operations and Control Monitoring Center, automated passenger transport facilities, and various lounges to ensure all aspects of airport operations were running smoothly.

The meticulous oversight by the transport minister and the collaborative efforts of airport officials and staff underscore the commitment to providing a seamless and enjoyable travel experience for all visitors during the sacred month of Ramadan.
