The programme, set to span the next four years, seeks to train and recruit over 400 aspiring pilots in Ireland, providing them with a comprehensive pathway to obtaining a Commercial Pilot Licence and eventually joining the ranks of Ryanair’s flight crew. Through a blend of classroom instruction, simulator training, and practical experience, participants will undergo rigorous preparation to kickstart their careers as commercial pilots.

By partnering with AFTA, a renowned international flight school based in Ireland, Ryanair aims to leverage its expertise in the aviation industry to groom a new generation of pilots. The Future Flyer Academy combines AFTA’s proven training programmes with Ryanair’s commitment to excellence, ensuring that candidates receive top-tier instruction and preparation for their roles.

Neal McMahon, Ryanair’s Chief Operations Officer, expressed enthusiasm for the launch of the Future Flyer Academy, highlighting the airline’s dedication to nurturing talent and expanding its pilot pool. McMahon emphasized the opportunities for aspiring pilots to embark on a rewarding career path within Ryanair, with benefits including outstanding earnings potential, access to a Route-to-Command programme, industry-leading rosters, and the chance to fly on one of Europe’s most efficient fleets.
