FitsAir Takes Off on New Colombo-Dhaka Route
FitsAir, Sri Lanka’s budget-friendly airline, marked a significant milestone as it launched its inaugural flight connecting Dhaka and Colombo on April 17. Departing from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the Airbus A320 aircraft carried 120 passengers to Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo, inaugurating a new era of travel convenience between the two capitals.
Distinguished guests including Dharmapala Weerakkody, the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Bangladesh, and Asitha Ranaweera, Deputy Chief Executive of FitsAir, graced the ceremony at Dhaka Airport. With Bengal Airlift Limited serving as FitsAir’s Global Sales Agent (GSA) in Bangladesh, the event highlighted the collaboration driving seamless travel experiences.
Initially offering two weekly flights, FitsAir’s schedule facilitates convenient travel with departures every Wednesday and Sunday from Dhaka, ensuring smooth connections to Dubai, Male, and Chennai. With plans to expand frequencies and destinations by the end of 2024, FitsAir is poised to enhance connectivity and accessibility for Bangladeshi travelers.
