One dead as turbulence hits Singapore Airlines flight
Absolute horror as a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence, resulting in one death and several injuries, forcing an emergency landing in Bangkok.
A Singapore Airlines flight from London was struck by severe turbulence, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. The Boeing 777-300ER, en route to Singapore, was diverted to Bangkok, landing at 15:45 local time (08:45 GMT).
Flight SQ 321 was carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members, according to a statement from the airline. Singapore Airlines expressed its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
The airline stated that it is collaborating with Thai authorities to provide medical assistance to the injured passengers and is dispatching a team to Bangkok for further support.
Emergency teams and ambulances were sent to Suvarnabhumi Airport by Thai authorities to assist upon the flight’s arrival.
Singapore’s Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat expressed his sorrow over the incident on Facebook, stating that the government would offer support to the affected passengers and their families.
