Air France’s Pop-Up Restaurant for Paris Olympics
Air France celebrates the Paris Olympics with a pop-up restaurant at Palais de Tokyo, offering a unique chance to enjoy in-flight business class cuisine on the ground for €85 per person.
To celebrate the upcoming Paris Olympics, Air France is launching a special pop-up restaurant at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. From July 27 to August 11, 2024, visitors can explore an expansive 850-square-meter area dedicated to Air France, offering a range of experiences including a virtual reality tour of the Airbus A350 cockpit and the opportunity to try out the airline’s latest business class seat.
One of the standout features of this pop-up is an 80-seat restaurant serving meals identical to those offered in Air France’s long-haul business class. Diners can expect a full culinary experience with an appetizer, starter, main dish, cheese selection, dessert, and a variety of wines, champagne, and other beverages. The meals are crafted by renowned French chef Arnaud Lallement, with desserts by pastry chef Nina Métayer.
This unique dining experience is priced at €85 per person, which includes all food and drinks. Reservations are available daily from 11:30 AM to 3 PM. While the exhibition itself is free to visit, the restaurant offers a special chance for aviation enthusiasts and curious foodies alike to savor high-quality airplane cuisine in a ground setting.
This initiative by Air France echoes similar creative efforts by airlines, such as Singapore Airlines’ temporary A380 restaurant during the early stages of the pandemic in 2020. As one of the sponsors of the Paris Olympics, Air France aims to make a memorable contribution to the event with this novel dining concept.
The pop-up restaurant’s menu is designed to replicate the in-flight dining experience, providing a unique opportunity for guests to enjoy the same high-quality meals they would receive at 35,000 feet. The inclusion of gourmet dishes by celebrated chefs Arnaud Lallement and Nina Métayer ensures that each meal is a culinary delight, highlighting the sophistication of Air France’s in-flight service. The use of a meal tray presentation adds an authentic touch, enhancing the overall experience.
Air France’s initiative not only promotes its brand during the high-profile Paris Olympics but also offers a unique marketing opportunity to showcase its premium services to a broader audience. By allowing visitors to physically engage with the airline’s latest offerings, such as the business class seat and VR cockpit tour, Air France aims to strengthen its reputation for innovation and excellence in aviation. This interactive exhibition is expected to attract aviation enthusiasts, potential customers, and curious visitors, creating a buzz around the airline during one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
The timing of this pop-up restaurant aligns perfectly with the anticipated increase in international visitors to Paris for the Olympics. It provides an exceptional venue for guests to experience French hospitality and cuisine in a novel setting. This strategic move by Air France not only enhances the Olympic experience but also reinforces the airline’s position as a leader in the aviation industry. The pop-up restaurant is poised to be a highlight of the Paris Olympics, offering a memorable dining experience that combines the excitement of the games with the luxury of Air France’s in-flight service.
