Copa Airlines has further postponed the introduction of its Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, now set to enter service in early September. Initially scheduled for early July, the introduction was first pushed to mid-August and has now been delayed by another two weeks.
The revised schedule places Quito (UIO) as the inaugural destination, with the first flight from Panama City planned for September 2, 2024. Following closely, Havana (HAV), Cuba, and Rosario (ROS), Argentina, will see MAX 8 services the next day. Lima (LIM) and San Jose (SJO), Costa Rica, are set to follow on September 5th.
For U.S. travelers, Copa will debut the MAX 8 flights from Panama City to Miami (MIA) on September 15, Orlando (MCO) on September 17, and Washington Dulles (IAD) on September 18. These dates align closely with previous schedule changes.
