The inaugural flight took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on July 10, marking a new chapter in the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

At the inauguration ceremony, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Muhammad Faruk Khan highlighted the potential benefits of this new route. “The direct flight on the Dhaka-Beijing route will add new dimensions to the expansion of trade between the two countries. This connection will provide Bangladeshi citizens, businesspeople, and students with the ease of traveling directly to Beijing,” he stated.

The minister emphasized that the direct flight symbolizes the strengthening bonds of friendship, cooperation, and development between Bangladesh and China. He expressed optimism that the new route would positively impact various sectors, including tourism.

Currently, direct flights operate from Dhaka to Kunming and Guangzhou in China. With the addition of the Dhaka-Beijing route, there are more opportunities for enhanced connectivity. Minister Khan also mentioned that starting July 15, China Southern Airlines would begin operating on the same route, further increasing travel options.
