The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has announced the third release of its Innovative Air Mobility (IAM) Hub, a digital platform designed to facilitate the exchange of information on air taxis and drones, emphasizing sustainability and geographical information.

Initially launched in December 2023, the IAM Hub connects cities, regions, national authorities, operators, and manufacturers involved in air taxi and drone services. This platform allows stakeholders to share and access reliable data and information.

A revised list of approved drones for EU operations now includes direct registration links and guidelines for manufacturers.

A new section dedicated to the sustainability of drones and eVTOLs features the Environmental Footprint Aviation (EFA) methodology for Delivery Drones. This standard methodology, developed by EASA, aligns with the European Commission’s Product Environmental Footprint framework and is open for consultation until August 27.

The IAM Hub now offers statistical drone operations data and population density information from EASA Member States, along with a Geo Zone test case from Portugal.

New guidance includes information on accessing financial support and obtaining EASA design verification for drones.

The updated start page provides resources for getting started with drones, flying for fun, and flying for work.
