Alaska Airlines has launched its new lounge at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) in Harvey Milk Terminal 1. The expansive 11,000-square-foot lounge, located across from Gate B6, is now open daily from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. This new space represents a significant upgrade from its previous location in Terminal 2, offering a more luxurious and spacious environment for travelers.

Sangita Woerner, Alaska’s senior vice president of marketing and guest experience, highlighted the lounge’s premium offerings, stating, “Today’s unveiling of our elegantly designed Lounge at SFO represents the culmination of over two years of dedicated commitment to enhance the way we care for our guests. Our lounges redefine the premium travel experience, providing top-tier amenities and ample space to escape the hustle and bustle of the airport, whether you’re traveling with Alaska or our oneworld and global airline partners.”

The lounge’s opening coincides with the completion of Terminal 1’s extensive five-year renovation, which aimed to modernize the terminal and improve the overall passenger experience. Once inside the Alaska lounge, travelers can indulge in a variety of elevated drink and dining options. These include hand-crafted espresso, local craft brews, and a selection of wines at the bar. Additionally, the lounge offers local culinary delights such as San Francisco sourdough bread and a made-to-order pancake machine, which is a popular feature at all of Alaska’s lounges.

In response to changes in lounge access policies earlier this year, Alaska Airlines increased the cost of annual memberships by $100. However, members can still bring immediate family members or up to two adults as guests at no extra charge. Eligible first-class ticket holders and Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members can also access Alaska lounges, provided they hold a same-day ticket.

The new lounge at SFO is part of Alaska Airlines’ broader strategy to renovate and enhance its lounges across major West Coast hubs. Over the past year, the airline has updated lounges in Portland and Seattle, ensuring that travelers enjoy a consistent and high-quality experience regardless of their departure city. The San Francisco lounge is now the largest Alaska Airlines lounge in California, reflecting the airline’s commitment to providing a superior travel experience for its passengers.

Alaska Airlines continues to focus on customer service and overall guest satisfaction. The airline’s lounges are designed to offer a serene and comfortable environment where travelers can relax, work, or socialize before their flights. With features like privacy booths and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the tarmac, the new SFO lounge exemplifies Alaska Airlines’ dedication to creating a welcoming and enjoyable space for all its guests
