Air India Express will launch new direct flights connecting Dhaka with Chennai and Kolkata. The Tata-owned airline will operate six flights per week on each route, enhancing connectivity between these major cities.

Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, highlighted that the new services will offer convenient connections to Air India Express flights heading to the Gulf region and to long-haul international flights with Air India. This expansion will also benefit travelers from other Indian cities such as Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, and Hyderabad, among others, through connections in Kolkata and Chennai.

Air India Express recently announced an expansion to Tripura, adding Agartala as its 46th domestic destination with daily flights to Guwahati, Delhi, and Kolkata, starting September 1.

The introduction of direct flights from Chennai and Kolkata to Dhaka by Air India Express is set to significantly improve regional connectivity. This move is expected to facilitate smoother and more convenient travel for passengers, reducing the need for layovers and transfers. By connecting Dhaka with major Indian cities directly, Air India Express aims to cater to both business and leisure travelers, enhancing the overall travel experience and opening up new opportunities for tourism and trade between the countries.

The new flights to Dhaka are part of Air India Express’s broader strategy to expand its network and increase market presence in South Asia. The airline’s expansion to Dhaka complements its recent growth in the Indian domestic market, including the addition of new routes to Tripura. By reinforcing its connections with important regional hubs, Air India Express is positioning itself as a key player in regional aviation, aiming to attract more passengers through enhanced route options and improved connectivity.
