DC Aviation Orders First Gulfstream G400 for European Charter
DC Aviation has become the first European charter operator to order the Gulfstream G400, a business jet offering superior speed, range, and efficiency.
In a major development for European aviation, DC Aviation has placed an order for Gulfstream‘s new G400 aircraft, marking the first dedicated charter operation in Europe to adopt this model. The announcement was made during a special ceremony at Gulfstream’s Farnborough Centre, with Gulfstream’s Vice-President of Sales, Mike Swift, applauding the milestone and the confidence DC Aviation has placed in the company.
The G400 is recognized for its balance of speed, efficiency, and cabin size, filling an important gap in the charter market. The aircraft’s first flight on August 15, 2024, showed promising results, cruising at Mach 0.85 and reaching an altitude of 41,000 feet over a three-hour test flight.
DC Aviation’s Managing Director, Svenja Wortmann, praised the G400’s features, citing its commitment to safety, convenience, and reliability for customers. The aircraft, powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW812GA engines, has a range of 4,200 nautical miles and is expected to make a significant impact on European charter operations.
Originally unveiled in October 2021, the G400 boasts Gulfstream’s high-speed wing design, introduced in the G500 and G600 models, enhancing efficiency and performance. DC Aviation hopes this order marks the beginning of a long-term partnership with Gulfstream as they look to expand their fleet.
