Ethiopian Airlines will commence five weekly flights on the Addis Ababa-Dhaka-Addis Ababa route starting November 2. The new service aims to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Bangladesh and Ethiopia, enhancing connectivity between the two regions. Operated by the advanced Boeing B787 Dreamliner, the route promises a seamless travel experience for passengers.

Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, expressed confidence in the Bangladeshi market, citing the airline’s modern fleet and exceptional service as key offerings for travelers. Shohag Hossain, Managing Director of Rhythm Group and GSA for Ethiopian Airlines in Bangladesh, highlighted the competitive fares and numerous connecting flight options available for Bangladeshi expatriates.

Ethiopian Airlines plans to increase the frequency of its Dhaka flights soon after the launch, potentially offering daily services. The expansion follows a service agreement signed last December between the civil aviation authorities of Bangladesh and Ethiopia, which set the groundwork for this new route.

As Africa’s largest airline, Ethiopian Airlines operates a fleet of 147 aircraft and serves over 63 destinations in Africa and nearly 150 worldwide. This new route will further extend its global reach, connecting Dhaka to major cities across Europe and North America via its Addis Ababa hub.
