Beond Eyes Caribbean Expansion for Luxury Air Travel
Beond, the Maldives-based premium leisure airline, is in talks to expand its operations to the Caribbean as part of its global growth strategy. With luxurious all-premium cabins and ambitious fleet expansion plans, the airline aims to bring its high-end services to more exotic destinations.
Beond, the premium leisure airline headquartered in Dubai and currently operating out of the Maldives, is exploring potential expansions to the Caribbean, as part of its long-term growth strategy. The airline, which operates an all-premium fleet of Airbus narrow-body aircraft, is considering acquiring separate Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) for these new markets.
Operating from its first hub in Malé, Beond has established itself as a unique player in the tourism-heavy Maldives, targeting high-end travelers with a luxurious onboard experience. The airline’s focus on offering a “luxury hotel in the sky” concept has already attracted significant attention, with services linking the Maldives to Europe and the Middle East.
According to Beond’s CEO, the airline is currently in discussions with airports in both the Caribbean and Indian Ocean regions, aiming to launch operations in these areas within the next 18 to 36 months. This multi-AOC model is aimed at expanding the airline’s footprint, leveraging premium travel demand in exotic destinations.
Beond’s fleet currently includes a retrofitted A319 and a newly added A321, both offering lie-flat seating for maximum comfort. The airline’s growth plans are ambitious, with a goal to increase its fleet to 32 aircraft within five years. While sourcing aircraft has been challenging due to industry constraints, Beond remains committed to maintaining its all-Airbus fleet.
As it continues its journey, Beond is positioning itself as the go-to airline for premium leisure travel, with plans to introduce more aircraft and expand its routes beyond the Maldives.
