Emirates Group Adds 2,200 New Jobs Amid Record Profits and Expansion
Emirates Group’s ongoing recruitment drive is a clear sign of the airline’s strong recovery post-pandemic and its ambition to maintain its position as a global aviation leader. With a commitment to reinvest profits into employee welfare and expansion, the airline is positioning itself for long-term success and growth.
Emirates Group has significantly boosted its workforce, adding over 2,200 new employees in the first half of the 2024-25 financial year, bringing its total number of staff to 114,610. This represents a nearly 2% increase from the 112,406 employees at the close of the previous financial year.
The recruitment surge is part of the group’s broader growth strategy, which includes ongoing hiring efforts at both Emirates Airline and its ground services arm, dnata, to meet future operational demands. The hiring spree comes as the group continues to see robust financial results, with a record profit before tax of Dh10.4 billion in the first half of 2024-25—surpassing the same period’s performance last year.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, emphasized that the company’s strong profitability enables it to reinvest in its workforce. “Our success allows us to invest in new products, cutting-edge technologies, and the well-being of our employees, who are integral to our ongoing growth,” he said.
This announcement follows a series of employee-focused initiatives, including a 4% salary increase for Emirates Group staff in June, alongside a substantial bonus of 20 weeks’ worth of salaries awarded in recognition of the group’s record profits.
Emirates has been aggressively expanding its operations following the global aviation recovery post-pandemic, with new flight routes and increased connectivity options from its Dubai hub. In the first half of 2024-25, the airline added eight new destinations to its network, including cities such as Amsterdam, Singapore, and Manila.
This growth marks a continued upward trajectory for Emirates Group, which, like many other Middle Eastern carriers, has emerged strongly from the pandemic. The hiring momentum reflects the airline’s commitment to meeting rising demand in global travel and ensuring high-quality services for its customers.
