In a landmark moment for Indian aviation, Vistara‘s last flight departed from Odisha’s Biju Patnaik International Airport on Monday night, marking the airline’s final operations before its integration with Air India. The flight, UK 782, took off at 8:30 PM, landing in Delhi at 10:55 PM, completing the last journey for Vistara passengers on this route.

As the airline prepares for its merger with Air India, Vistara bid a heartfelt goodbye to its loyal customers, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support. The airline took to social media to thank its passengers: “Thank you for being part of this unforgettable journey and showering us with your #VistaraLove. We will forever cherish these memories. Please follow @airindia for all the latest updates.”

Vistara, a Tata Group and Singapore Airlines joint venture, will soon become part of Air India. The merger will see Vistara’s services operate under Air India’s umbrella, with flight numbers transitioning from UK to AI codes starting November 12. For example, Vistara’s UK 955 will now become Air India’s AI 2955, easing the transition for travelers.

The airline has promised that existing routes and schedules will remain unaffected, and passengers will continue to enjoy the same in-flight experience. Air India has also rolled out several measures to ensure a smooth transition for customers, including on-ground support across major airports, help desks, and additional customer service staff wearing Air India-branded T-shirts.

Over 270,000 Vistara customers have already been migrated to Air India, and the airline’s loyalty program members are being integrated into Air India’s frequent flyer program. This merger strengthens Air India’s network, connecting over 90 destinations worldwide and offering seamless travel options for passengers.

With new aircraft deliveries, fleet upgrades, and extended catering services, Air India is set to redefine the travel experience for its passengers, marking an exciting new chapter in India’s aviation landscape.
