Airbus opens its regional headquarters in Riyadh, marking a major step in its commitment to Saudi Arabia’s aerospace ambitions and Vision 2030 goals.
Airbus has inaugurated its new regional headquarters in Riyadh, showcasing its strengthened commitment to Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. The expansion amplifies Airbus’ focus on aviation, defense, space, and helicopter operations across the region.
With over 350 employees in Saudi Arabia—30% of whom are Saudi nationals—Airbus is emphasizing local talent development and technological innovation. This move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Regional Headquarters Program, which incentivizes international businesses with tax exemptions and support services.
Eid Al-Qahtani, previously head of operations for Airbus Helicopters in Riyadh, now leads the Riyadh-based HQ as president. Al-Qahtani plans to deepen partnerships with stakeholders and pursue new opportunities. “We are committed to supporting Saudi Arabia’s goals while nurturing the next generation of aerospace leaders,” he said.
Airbus’ initiatives align with Saudi Vision 2030, including a partnership with the General Authority for Military Industries to localize aerospace capabilities through technology transfers and joint ventures like SAMI Airbus Aircraft Maintenance Services.
Saudi Arabia’s investment efforts have attracted 540 regional headquarters, exceeding its Vision 2030 target. The Kingdom continues to position itself as a hub for global business and innovation.
