Prosperity I: Luxurious eVTOL Makes Flight Debut in Japan
The Prosperity I, a luxurious eVTOL designed by AutoFlight, marks its debut in Japan as part of efforts to revolutionize mobility with innovative air taxi solutions.
The Prosperity I, an innovative eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft) from AutoFlight, recently marked a major milestone by completing its first flight in Japan’s Okayama Prefecture. Renowned for its luxury, Prosperity I features interior designs by legendary automotive designer Frank Stephenson, known for his work with brands like Ferrari and McLaren. The eVTOL boasts natural organic shapes, advanced mood lighting, and cutting-edge materials, setting it apart as one of the most luxurious air taxis in the world.
Designed to accommodate four passengers and a pilot, Prosperity I operates on a lift-plus-cruise system, reaching speeds of 200 kph (124 mph) with a range of up to 250 km (155 miles). It also supports multiple configurations, including cargo and firefighting roles, highlighting its versatility.
This Japanese debut is part of the SCAI28 Project led by MASC, aiming to address mobility challenges in the Setouchi region by introducing efficient air taxi solutions. The eVTOL will conduct demonstration flights across Japan to explore its potential in revolutionizing local transportation infrastructure.
Earlier this year, Prosperity I made headlines for completing groundbreaking flights in China and Abu Dhabi. Notably, it achieved a pilotless inter-city, cross-sea flight over China’s Pearl River Delta, reducing a three-hour car journey to just 20 minutes.
With manufacturing in China, operations in California, and engineering in Germany, AutoFlight is on track to secure global certification for its eVTOL, furthering its vision of transforming urban mobility worldwide.
