GCC Airlines, Saudi Airport Top Punctuality Rankings
Saudia and Qatar Airways rank among the world’s most punctual airlines in 2024, while Riyadh King Khalid International Airport takes the crown as the most on-time global airport.
Two Gulf airlines have soared to the top of global punctuality rankings for 2024. Saudia and Qatar Airways secured second and fifth positions, respectively, among the world’s most on-time airlines. The rankings were led by Aeromexico, followed by Saudia and Delta Air Lines.
Saudia impressed with 88.8% of its flights departing on schedule, while Qatar Airways achieved an 82.5% on-time departure rate, showcasing their commitment to excellence despite global aviation challenges.
In addition, Riyadh King Khalid International Airport emerged as the most punctual airport globally in 2024, with 86.5% of flights departing as scheduled. The Saudi hub, serving 115 routes and 60 airlines, also triumphed in the ‘Large Airport’ category, surpassing top contenders from around the world.
Despite a challenging year marked by IT outages and severe weather, the aviation sector demonstrated resilience, with rising air travel demand and a notable increase in international trips.
With aircraft departures expected to reach 40 million in 2025, the industry continues to soar to new heights, fueled by innovation and determination.
