Emirates has made substantial strides in reducing its environmental impact through its “Green Operating Procedures” (Green Ops) initiative, launched in 2016. The initiative focuses on minimizing fuel usage both on the ground and in-flight, led by an internal Operations Efficiency Steering Group dedicated to maintaining safety while reducing emissions.

In the 2023-2024 financial year, Emirates reported that its Green Ops program helped reduce fuel consumption by over 48,000 tons and cut carbon emissions by more than 151,000 tons. This achievement underscores the airline’s commitment to sustainability.

Captain Hassan Al Hammadi, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President of Flight Operations, praised the Flight Operations team and pilots for their collective discipline and dedication to sustainable aviation practices, ensuring high safety standards.
